Did you know that hundreds of people fall each year on wet or slippery surfaces? Many fall outside on a sidewalk, on steps or in a playground. A fall can happen anywhere and at any time.
Some people are lucky; they get up a little embarrassed but they walk away unhurt. Others are not so lucky and they suffer injuries. Examples of slip and fall injuries include broken or fractured bones, back pain, spinal problems or a brain injury. Some injuries result in long-term medical care.
Anyone falling because of someone’s negligence should consult an experienced Personal Injury attorney you may be entitled to compensation.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run driver crashed into and killed a 41-year old Hemet woman in Moreno Valley. The police investigated and assumed he was going west and crossed into the eastbound lane to pass the woman. He might have forced the woman off the road.
The woman lost control of her vehicle and another vehicle sideswiped her. She was ejected from the car even though she was wearing her seatbelt. The hit-and-run driver is wanted by the police. If he had not passed the woman’s car improperly, the fatal wreck may not have happened. victim
I encourage the victim’s family to contact an experienced Personal Injury Attorney for their loss.

Medical malpractice occurs when a patient sustains an injury or worse because of a doctor or other medical professional’s negligence (includes HMO’s and PPO’s). It is when improper healthcare is provided. Medical malpractice arises from a misdiagnosis, a wrong drug, no notification of a certain procedure’s risk or carelessness when performing surgery.
Statistics show that about 3% of hospital patients are victims of medical errors. In addition, about 50,000 to 100,000 patients die each year because of medical errors.
A medical malpractice suit can be against the specific doctor or hospital. Legal action can be taken for compensation. There are medical malpractice laws to protect all patients. This kind of lawsuit can take a long time in the court system; they are very expensive to pursue.
If you or a loved one been a victim of medical negligence contact a Medical Malpractice Attorney immediately.

Are you aware that three Los Angeles area hospitals, including Cedars Sinai Hospital, are under investigation for delivering an overdose of radiation to CT scan patients in less than two years? Now a Huntsville Alabama Hospital is under investigation for the same problem.
The overdose originally came from a General Electric CT scanning machine, but now includes Toshiba machines as well.
The FDA’s investigation has shown personal injury and severe side effects caused by Cedar-Sinai hospital personnel’s negligence. The investigation involves over 200 patients. Radiation overdose can cause you long-term health issues. If you are one of the over 200 patients exposed to an overdose of radiation, I would suggest you contact an experienced Medical Malpractice attorney immediately. Your health is at risk; do not wait another minute.

Here in Southern California too many people ride dirt bikes off-road without wearing protective helmets. An accident on a dirt bike or ATV often leads to a traumatic brain injury. A helmet cannot prevent a head injury but can reduce the severity of it. The California terrain consists of bumps, ditches, and rocks, causing some vehicles to rollover and the rider can be ejected.
There are no official rules of the road and the rider must decide a safe speed limit. There are too many reckless riders off-road in California. There are too many dirt bikes that collide with other dirt bikes, causing serious injuries to one another. In addition, dirt bike riders enjoy stunt driving or jumps over obstacles. With that said, there are still laws that protect the riders from pure negligence by other parties.
I hope anyone involved in a dirt bike or ATV accident knows to contact a reliable and experienced Personal Injury attorney to fight for him or her.

A few months ago, a terrible accident occurred on the corner of Del Rosa Avenue and Date Place. The intersection has three gas stations and is close to the 210 Freeway entrance. A driver ran into a motorcyclist, which caused the motorcyclist to fly about 50 feet into the air and broke his leg. The San Bernardino Police Department, after collecting accident data for over five years, determined that this intersection is the most dangerous in the city.
The Police Department received a grant from The Selective Traffic Enforcement Program to fix this problem. New radar equipment and special patrol operations should now be able to catch red-light violators and other traffic offenders, including speeders. The causes for these accidents include illegal turns, speeding and right-of-way violations. Right turns are not allowed from Date to Del Rosa on a red light. However, many drivers ignore the signs. The Police pull over many drivers every day for violations.
I hope anyone involved in a serious auto accident knows to contact an experienced Car Accident Attorney.

The weather, for the most part, is beautiful in San Bernardino. I actually see individuals and couples walking outside all the time. But in some parts, there may be feral or abandoned dogs roaming about. One of my neighbors asked me what to do if she encounters a strange dog while out walking.
There are many things to do but never throw anything at the dog or scream at it. This may make the dog angry and excite it. Avoid making eye contact but never turn your back on it. If the dog looks like it will attack you, give it your jacket, purse or backpack. Create a barrier between the two of you. If you are knocked down, curl into a ball, protecting your ears and the back of your neck. Other safety tips include not to pet a dog tied up in its yard by reaching through the fence, do not bother a dog that is eating, do not pull its ears or tail, and always let the dog see you first.
If the dog bites you, as soon as possible, wash the wound with soap and water and call your doctor. Contact your local animal control agency at San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control Program (800-472-5609).
I advise if you or anyone you know has been attacked by a dog contact a Dog Bite Lawyer right away.

Talk about awful news. It is bad enough when a baby dies at birth or soon after, but when the baby’s body disappears also…. that is just not right. A baby born prematurely at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Northern California died two hours after being born. The body was misplaced and found six days later in the pathology department’s refrigerator.
The hospital released a statement saying they will not discuss specific details due to the patient’s privacy. The hospital offered their apologies to the family. It is not enough to suffer the loss, but to be put through additional aggravation is very, very sad. The hospital is investigating how this could have happened and how they can prevent it from happening again.
I hope someone has advised the parents to seek help from an experienced professional malpractice attorney familiar with hospital procedure.

With the holidays upon us, so many vehicles are out on the roads – shopping, visiting family and friends, going somewhere. Everyone is in a hurry to get to his or her destination. Unfortunately, too many accidents occur this time of year. Here are some tips for holiday driving.
No matter what time of the year it is, always drive defensively with both eyes on the road. Never, ever drink and drive. Make sure your seat belt is on, children are in car seats, if needed, and your insurance is up-to-date.
If you are involved in an accident, always stop and get help for any injured people if you can. Call 911 immediately and wait for the police to arrive. Exchange pertinent information with the other vehicle(s). Once the police clear the scene, report the accident to your insurance company and schedule a doctor’s appointment to check you for any injuries. Finally, if you need legal assistance, contact an experienced San Bernardino personal injury attorney.
Do not forget – drive safely and have a wonderful holiday season.

When a car or SUV has an accident with an 80,000-pound big rig, chances are the passengers will either be severely injured or killed.
This was the case when three people were recently killed in Sunland, California. Five people were in an SUV traveling on the 210 Freeway. The big rig was parked on the side of the road when the SUV slammed into it. Three of the people were killed and two survived. The reasons are not known yet. The big rig driver was not injured.
A person injured in an accident with a big rig has rights. This accident is being investigated; I hope all concerned contact a truck accident personal injury attorney to find out what rights they have. My condolences go out to the families of the people killed.
