Two lives were taken recently by a hit-and-run driver in Victorville.

A 34-year old mother, her 11-year old daughter, and 8-year old son, were driving along Highway 395 the other afternoon when a pickup truck turned left directly in front of them.  The woman lost control of her vehicle, causing her to crash into a telephone pole.

The mother and daughter suffered fatal injuries and the son was airlifted to a nearby trauma center.  The pickup truck driver fled the scene, but was later arrested by police for suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit-and-run causing death and injury.

According to California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a), “Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs is illegal.  Drivers whose act of driving under the influence results in the death of another will likely face vehicular manslaughter charges.”  In addition, he violated California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) for leaving the scene of an accident without stopping.

If you or a family member is injured or killed due to the negligent acts of another driver, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will make sure the at-fault driver is held responsible for the victim’s wrongful death and injuries.

The weekend did not end well for two motorists.

A vehicle on Highway 395 in Adelanto rolled over late the other night.  Paramedics took injured passengers by air to nearby hospitals for treatment; one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal accident is under investigation to determine why the vehicle flipped over. If it is determined that there was a mechanical defect, the occupants may be able to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the vehicle. I suggest they contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney so they can discuss their options and legal rights.

Did you hear about the two people traveling on Highway 395 the other day that got hit by an SUV at an intersection?  The woman in the SUV was making a left-hand turn when it found its way in the path of the smaller vehicle, a Toyota.  The two collided and the two people in the Toyota were injured.  They were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

According to California Vehicle Code Section 21801(a), “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.”

If the SUV driver is found to be at fault, she may be held liable for the injuries caused to the two people in the Toyota.  She may be liable for compensation for any medical expenses incurred as a result of her negligence.

I hope the two victims contact a knowledgeable California Personal Injury attorney who will delve into the facts and determine exactly what happened and determine if they are, indeed, eligible for compensation for their expenses.    If you are injured in an automobile accident, call an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to see if you have a case and receive the justice that is due you.

A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy responding to the call from other deputies was involved in a severe vehicle crash on Highway 395 in Victorville.  He was responding to a call regarding a possible fight in an apartment building.

He was at the intersection of Highway 395 and Mojave Drive when the accident took place.  The driver of the other vehicle was airlifted to a close-by trauma center and was listed in stable condition.  The deputy was taken to a medical center in Colton, treated and released.

The police car had extensive damage to the front end.  The accident is under investigation to determine what happened
