A man turning left onto an onramp to the northbound Interstate 15 in Victorville the other morning was struck by a woman who did not stop for a red light.  The impact caused the man’s vehicle to split in two.  Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Victorville Police are investigating the accident, but it appears that the woman who ran the red light is at fault.  According to California Vehicle Code Section 21453(a), “A driver facing a circular red signal shall stop at the limit line before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, if none, then before entering the intersection, and shall remain stopped until an indication to proceed is shown.”

If you are injured by a driver who did not stop for a red light, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate to determine if you are entitled to compensation by the negligent party for your injuries, medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Dec 15

Las Vegas, a city visited by millions of people every year is close to San Bernardino County.

The fastest way to get to Las Vegas from San Bernardino is on Interstate 15; however, it is one of the most dangerous and busiest roads in the country.  The Las Vegas Visitors Bureau stated that more than eight million drivers use that road every year.  The road also has more fatalities than any road in the country.

Roads going to Las Vegas are boring with virtually nothing to see; motorists tend to speed.

Many do not pay attention to their surroundings.  Everyone wants to get to Las Vegas quickly; however, observing the speed limit is best in the long run.  Pay attention because the life you save on that stretch of road could very well be your own.

If you find yourself involved in an accident on Interstate 15 or any road, and you believe it was a result of a negligent driver, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will seek damages for you.

Nov 09

A 55-year old Caltrans truck driver attempting to enter traffic from the right shoulder on Interstate 15 in Victorville the other afternoon was almost hit by a big-rig. The big-rig swerved to avoid hitting the smaller truck and instead sideswiped another vehicle.

The sideswiped vehicle managed to pull off the freeway and onto the right shoulder. The driver of the big-rig lost control and hit a Cal Fire van and then an unoccupied Caltrans pickup truck that was on the right shoulder. The big-rig proceeded off the freeway and ended up crashing through the front door of a furniture store.

Several people were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the chain-reaction accident to determine how it happened.  If you are injured in a freeway accident, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate the case, make sure the at-fault driver is held liable, and seek compensation for your injuries and expenses.

Oct 20

A trucker involved in a chain-reaction accident on Interstate 15 last year will begin a nine-month jail sentence this month after pleading guilty to four misdemeanor counts of vehicular manslaughter.

The accident took place when an SUV with a family of four was stuck between two tractor-trailer trucks in stop-and-go traffic.  The crash caused one of the trucks and the SUV to be engulfed in flames, killing the entire family.

The trucker said the crash happened so quickly; he had no time to do anything to avoid it due to the freeway construction all around him.  He stated that he was not on his cell phone and he was not on drugs.  He suffered burns to his hands, arm and face while trying to save one of the passengers of the SUV.

If a family member is killed in an accident as a result of a negligent driver, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate your case to determine if you are entitled to file a wrongful death lawsuit and receive compensation for your loss and expenses.

Sep 12

It is unknown why an SUV with two men traveling on the northbound side of Interstate 15 in San Bernardino crashed into the center divider the other morning.

After the vehicle came to a stop, another SUV crashed into the back end of the first SUV; the impact caused both vehicles to go over the side of the freeway and burst into flames.  Firefighters found the dead bodies of both men in the first SUV.

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating to determine what caused this fatal accident to happen – why the first SUV crashed into the center divider and why the second SUV did not stop in time to avoid crashing.  Without this information, they cannot determine who was at fault in the end.
