Riding a motorcycle is more difficult than driving a car because of the fact that you are only on two wheels and have nothing to protect you in case of an accident.  Riding a motorcycle becomes even more difficult when you have to deal with adverse conditions, such as heavy rain.

Back in 2007 a San Bernardino woman sued the County of San Bernardino when she was injured in a motorcycle accident and sustained major head and neck injuries – after heavy rains.

Bad weather may have led to her motorcycle accident.  She blamed the accident on dangerous road conditions.  At the time of the accident heavy rains had washed out part of the road, leaving a dangerous trench.  The crash occurred before road crews were able to make repairs.

A fact to remember:  When it is raining, you have much less traction when you are riding on roadways that are covered with water. Reports indicate that you have only two tires to make contact with the road and your motorcycle weighs much less than an average automobile, giving you less pressure on the tires to make contact with the road.

An accident involving a motorcycle usually results in a severe injury and sometimes death.  If you have suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident, it is important that you seek medical attention and the legal advice of an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will explain the process, what you are facing and your next steps in moving forward.

In a city like San Bernardino, more and more people are using buses as a means of transportation, especially with gas prices being so high and it allows them to avoid crowded freeways and traffic.

Since using public transportation has become more popular, and the number of passengers has increased, so have the number of bus-related accidents.  Unfortunately, bus accidents happen too often.  In many cases, they involve other motor vehicles or even pedestrians.

Because of the size of the bus, people are more likely to sustain serious, life-threatening injuries.

If you have been injured in a bus accident, you do not want to worry about your financial security.  Contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will help you recover monetary damages for your injuries, medical expenses, and lost wages without stressing over your future well-being.

It is unknown why an SUV with two men traveling on the northbound side of Interstate 15 in San Bernardino crashed into the center divider the other morning.

After the vehicle came to a stop, another SUV crashed into the back end of the first SUV; the impact caused both vehicles to go over the side of the freeway and burst into flames.  Firefighters found the dead bodies of both men in the first SUV.

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating to determine what caused this fatal accident to happen – why the first SUV crashed into the center divider and why the second SUV did not stop in time to avoid crashing.  Without this information, they cannot determine who was at fault in the end.

If your loved one is killed in an accident, it would be wise for you to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who can determine if you should file a wrongful death lawsuit against the responsible party and receive compensation for your loss and expenses incurred.

A 21-year old woman driver and her 23-year old passenger were killed in San Bernardino early the other morning after tire tread separation caused their vehicle to go out of control, swerve off the road, and roll over several times. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are investigating to determine what caused the tire tread to separate. If results of the investigation show the tire was defective, the tire or vehicle manufacturer may be held liable for compensation to the families of these two young people.

It would be wise for the families to consult with a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in auto products liability cases.

A 51-year old man walking with a bicycle in San Bernardino the other night was hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian sustained major head and leg injuries, while the driver sustained minor injuries. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital where he died the next day.

California law states that when a person gets off his or her bike and walks it, they have the same rights as pedestrians. They have not yet determined if the man was walking in a crosswalk at the time he was hit.  However, if he was, California Vehicle Code Section 21950 states, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.” It continues with, “The driver of a vehicle approaching a pedestrian within any marked or unmarked crosswalk shall exercise all due care and shall reduce the speed of a vehicle or take any other action relating to the operating of the vehicle as necessary to safeguard the safety of the pedestrian.”

Police are investigating to determine what caused this fatal accident.  If you or a family member is the victim of an accident while crossing the street, I suggest you should contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will advise you or your legal rights and determine if you are entitled to compensation for injuries and medical expenses.

According to the California Highway Patrol a driver going the wrong way on an off ramp on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino hit another driver, causing both vehicles to face in the wrong direction.

Two people were killed in an accident involving a big-rig in the San Bernardino desert near Red Mountain Road recently.

The 31-year old woman from Long Beach was traveling north on Highway 395.  Also killed was the 49-year old trucker, also from Long Beach.  According to California Highway Patrol officers, neither were wearing their seat belts.  A 27-year old survivor from Texas was flown to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries.

It was reported that the big-rig ran off the road, spilling more than 2,000 gallons of used motor oil that it was carrying.  The fatal accident is under investigation to determine what caused this to happen.

Once investigators determine what happened, I urge the families to contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who is skilled in trucking accidents to see if they are entitled to compensation for their loss, expenses and pain and suffering.
